Customized Jewelry Design with CAD/CAM Technology

Customizing jewelry requires a creative vision, an understanding of how to construct a structurally sound piece, and extreme attention to detail. Our team at DeSumma and Wexler Fine Jewelry has mastered this craft. Utilizing CAD/CAM technology we can now create any piece of jewelry one can dream! Whether you are looking to re-create something that you have seen on the Internet or you desire a matching wedding band to complement your “unique” engagement ring, the staff at DeSumma and Wexler will work closely with you to make it perfect.

Through DeSumma and Wexler’s CAD/CAM technology program, we can originate or replicate any jewelry design with few limitations. First, our team will design your jewelry on our CAD program. This program allows us to control dimensions up to 1/10 of a millimeter. We can view the ring at many different angles and make changes accordingly. The picture below will show a diamond engagement ring in its most primitive stages. If you would like, our staff can convert these images and email them to you to help visualize what the piece will look like when complete.

From the computer file, the design is then sent to a wax milling machine. From a solid piece of wax, the needles of the mill will carve your piece with precision. We may suggest that you visit our store again to view or even to try on the wax. By trying on the wax and viewing it in person, you will be able to see size and scale. Some models will even show the most intricate detail work and where your gemstones are going to be set. Below is a picture of the wax model.
